Glass House Mountains

The iconic Glass House Mountains stand tall above the landscape on the Sunshine Coast.  A picturesque place for a drive and very popular with hikers and climbers.  Pictures cannot capture the magnificence of this beautiful landscape.  It is a place that you can visit time and time again as there are many walks to take and the landscape varies greatly, depending upon the viewpoint, the season and time of day, which is why I have included so many photos.

The Glass House Mountains was a special meeting place, where aboriginal people gathered for ceremonies and trading. You can read the aboriginal dreaming legend about the Glass House Mountains here.

Further information about the Glass House Mountains National Park can be found here

  1. Hello Sharon! Just happened on your blog via the A to Z this morning. Love your images. The firework shots are great. We were to have visitors from NZ in a month through a travel org we belong to where folks stay with you for at least 2 days upon request. SERVAS is the org. Sadly that will not happen now. Living in Northern Michigan holds natural wonders of a different kind. I will be coming back often.
